It’s been a few years since I graduated high school, but I still think about the good old days of playing in my band, “Forever Changed.” We weren’t exactly the most popular band in school, but we had a dedicated group of fans who always came to our shows. And let’s be real, that’s all that really matters.
We had a pretty standard lineup – guitar, bass, drums, and vocals. But we always tried to put our own spin on things, and I think that’s what set us apart from the other bands at our school. We weren’t trying to be anyone else, we were just being ourselves. And that’s something that I think is important to remember, no matter what you’re doing in life.
One of my favorite memories from those days was when we played at the school talent show. We were all incredibly nervous, but once we got on stage and started playing, everything fell into place. The crowd was really into it, and we even got a standing ovation. It was a pretty incredible feeling, and it’s a moment that I’ll always treasure.
But of course, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There were definitely times when we had disagreements and creative differences. But we always managed to work through them and come out stronger on the other side. It’s a valuable lesson that I’ve taken with me into my adult life – that sometimes, the best way to deal with a problem is to work through it together.
I’m not sure if any of us will go on to become professional musicians, but that’s not really the point. The time we spent in “Forever Changed” was about more than just the music – it was about friendship, creativity, and the joy of making something together. And those are all things that I’ll carry with me forever.
